OSU graduates have a long history of volunteering in the Peace Corps. Last year – 28 OSU grads were serving abroad. Assignments are 27-months in length. Volunteers typically serve either after completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree and apply approximately 9 months before they would like to depart.
Oregon State partners with the Peace Corps through the agency’s “Master’s International” program, where individuals can combine Peace Corps service with their master’s degree. See the attached link to discover how OSU fits into the “Master’s International” program: http://gradschool.oregonstate.edu/pcmi
Also, Peace Corps recruiter Scot Roskelley will be on campus Nov. 16-18 and is making appointments to meet individually with people who would like more information about the Peace Corps. Email him at sroskelley@peacecorps.gov to schedule.
Peace Corps volunteers have enhanced hiring status with the federal government for one year following service – an added bonus when job hunting!
